Moira Marshall has dedicated herself to the Stella Maris Catholic School community for over 25 years.

Working in Catholic education has special rewards for Moira.

“There seems to be a special bond between staff, students and families associated with our schools, it is rewarding to be part of a community that cares for each other.”

“As a Teacher Assistant I enjoy seeing the ‘light bulb’ moments when a student finally achieves at a task that has been difficult and time consuming for them.”

“It is incredibly fulfilling to see students grow and learn.”

Through all the changes in education over the last 25 years Moira acknowledges that learning is a shared process.

“Technology has also gone ahead at enormous pace – I struggle to keep up! Just ask a senior student for help. They love it when they can teach you something.”

Of the many events Moira has experienced in Catholic education Stella Maris’ centenary is a particular highlight.

“I was on the organising committee for the Centenary Celebrations for Stella Maris. It was a very special time for both past and present students, families and staff – another example of the community spirit that exists.”
