Welcome to the forefront of teacher development and Catholic education innovation with Catholic Education Tasmania (CET) and the St. Thomas Aquinas Teaching Schools Institute (STATSI).

Our institute is dedicated to shaping the future of education by providing pre-service support, cutting-edge pedagogical approaches, and a strong foundation in the Catholic faith.

Becoming a STATSI cadet is now a highly competitive process, reflecting our commitment to excellence in education. Selected education undergraduates have the unique opportunity to engage in paid placements within CET classrooms, working alongside experienced mentor teachers.

Cadets participate in full-day paid tuition and faith formation sessions weekly, preparing them for their future roles as educators in Catholic schools. This structured approach allows cadets to dedicate two full working days each week to learning and practising the art of teaching, benefiting both CET and their own professional growth.

In addition to this unparalleled hands-on experience, cadets receive a $2,500 scholarship annually, contingent upon maintaining passing grades in their undergraduate studies and meeting cadetship criteria. They also receive a laptop computer and other essential resources for personal and professional use.

Throughout their cadetship, students have the privilege of learning from world-class educational leaders, providing unmatched learning opportunities and invaluable insights into the field of education.

As a STATSI cadet, you can pursue your Bachelor in Education or Master of Teaching online through your chosen university. This unique setup allows for flexibility in your studies while gaining practical experience in the classroom.

Are you ready to shape the minds of tomorrow? Join us on this transformative journey to become exceptional educators driven by a passion for teaching and a commitment to Catholic education excellence. Apply now to become a STATSI cadet and embark on a rewarding career.
