After being involved in her children’s education as a classroom helper and through activities with the school and parish, Ann Cox commenced her career as a Teacher Assistant in 1993.

Reflecting on her time in Catholic education Ann says, “I just love turning up at school each day and helping to make a positive difference in the lives of the diverse groups of children I work with.”

“Perhaps I’m biased but I feel so lucky to work with such an amazing supportive community at Stella Maris. They are people who genuinely care, first and foremost about their students and also for each other.“

Though there have been many highlights during Ann’s career, one in particular stands out.

“The most memorable one for me was meeting an ex-student who told me something significant I had shared with him many years ago in a Rainbows group, had made a positive difference in his life.

Ann has one hope for the future of Catholic education:

“That all those involved, can follow the philosophy of our School, ‘Dare to step out and make a difference just like Jesus'.”
