Sue Uziallo

With over 40 years in education, 25 of those within Catholic education, Sue Uziallo is understandably attached to the classroom.

“At the end of 2018 and after 40 years of teaching I decided it was time to retire.”

“This year I have been doing the occasional day of relief teaching in Catholic education, gradually weaning myself away from the classroom.”

Sue has left Catholic education with fond memories of the people she has formed relationships with over the years.

“One of my hopes for the future of Catholic education is that there remains a focus on how important relationships are in affecting the learning outcomes of children.”

“I have enjoyed the pastoral aspect of working in Catholic education; the relationships formed with families and students over many years has been most rewarding.”

“It has also been enjoyable to have past students return to Corpus Christi as teachers themselves and to be able to work alongside them as colleagues.“

Making a difference in the lives of others has also been a big part of Sue’s time within Catholic education.

“One highlight of working in Catholic education has been parents or past students giving you positive feedback and the feeling that you may have in some small way, made a difference in a child’s school life.”

“Another hope for the future of Catholic education is that more support is given to our LGBTI students, so they feel they can be themselves in our Catholic Schools.”
