Around the Schools
On the air
Every month four Grade 6 students from Sacred Heart Catholic School Geeveston visit the Huon FM radio station to take part in ‘School News’. This live broadcast allows students to share what they love about Sacred Heart and the many exciting things that are happening in the school community. To start the year off Jack, Olivia, Philip and Ellie attended and did a fantastic job, speaking with great confidence and enthusiasm for the School.

Hawthorn Football Club
The stars of Hawthorn Football Club visited students at schools and colleges in the North when they were in Tasmania for a game with Collingwood recently. Many students took great pride in wearing the brown and gold, got to participate in clinics run by the players and get their photo taken with their heros.

Clean Up Australia Day
Students around Tasmania were involved in the recent Schools Clean Up Day on 27 February as part of the Clean Up Australia Day campaign. Most students were able to see the difference this made in their schools however some schools were pleased to find that there wasn’t much rubbish to collect on their grounds and so ventured off into the community to make a greater difference.

Students, teachers and families from Sacred Heart College, St Therese’s Catholic School and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School gathered on 4 March at the Derwent Entertainment Centre for a Commencement Liturgy. The event celebrated the charism of the Josephite tradition whilst showcasing each school and it’s unique history and tradition. The Liturgy also provided an opportunity to recognise and induct the student leaders from all three schools and colleges.
