Police Checks

The Tasmanian Catholic Education Office is committed to developing and maintaining a child safe environment.

In 2007, the TCEO established the Police Check process with the responsibility for the effective Police screening of all non-teaching employees and nominated volunteers within Catholic Schools who have direct contact with, or access to records or authority for, children and young people under the age of 18 years, or other vulnerable groups including the disabled and the elderly.

Police checks are conducted every three years (maximum) or as required by changes in job/task responsibilities.  All care is taken to ensure that the privacy of individuals is respected and maintained at all times thought out the processes.

Human Services is the central coordinating area for all Police Checks for Catholic education in Tasmania.
