Application requirements

Principals

Applicants interested in Principal roles in Catholic education in Tasmania are required to complete a job application package.  The package will include a position description and criteria.

Teachers

Teachers are required to complete a teacher's application form and provide a supporting letter to the Principal addressing the essential and specific criteria for the position.  Applications are to be forwarded directly to the Principal.

School Support Staff

Applicants are to provide a curriculum vitae and supporting letter to the Principal addressing the essential and specific criteria for the position.   Applications are to be forwarded directly to the Principal.

TCEO Staff

Applicants are to provide a curriculum vitae and supporting letter to Human Resources addressing the essential and specific criteria for the position.

Salaries

Salaries paid to Catholic school teachers are in parity with those paid to teachers by the Tasmanian Government.

Types of Employment within Catholic schools

Ongoing

Hired in a part-time or full-time capacity.

Limited Tenure

Limited Tenure employs may be employed:

  1. To undertake a specific project of task for specified period up to 3 years.
  2. To replace another employee absent on extended leave for a specified period of time on either a full-time or part-time basis for more than two calendar months.

Relief teacher

Means an employee who is a registered teacher who is appointed as and when required on an irregular basis for periods up to two calendar months.
